Richard G. "Gor" Bailey, 60, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Jan. 4, 2021, at his home.
His family has granted his wishes of cremation. Dawson Funeral Services is caring for his family at this time.
Richard Glen Bailey was born on Feb.
19, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, to Edward Glen "Moose" and Rose (Albaugh) Bailey. He worked as a pipefitter. Gor lived by his
own rules. He enjoyed his job and union brothers, beer, heavy metal concerts, live music, Harley rides, liver and onions and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Jennifer (Justin) Dewey of Altoona, Iowa; sister, Kathy (Rick) Sparrow of Tipton, Iowa; brothers, Steve (Janet) Bailey of Alvarado, Texas, and Don (Jean) Bailey of Walker, Iowa; ex-wife and friend, Chris Bailey of Lisbon, Iowa; special friend, Cathy Shoun of Vero Beach, Fla.; honorary daughter, Doria (Richard) Cook of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, Ashlyn Rose of Altoona; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger; and nephew, Ryan "Bubba" Bailey.
Memorials may be directed to his family in his honor.
