Nadine Mason, 98, of Sigourney, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at the Keokuk County Health Center.

Nadine was born March 9, 1917, in Wright, Iowa,

to Howard and Ada (Alexander) Spears and received her education at South Honeygrove country school. On Aug. 12, 1935, she married Don Mason in Lancaster, Mo. The couple lived and farmed in the Delta community and Nadine worked as a waitress at several restaurants. She was also a volunteer worker at the Old Threshers in Mount Pleasant for more than 20 years. Don passed away in 1978 and Nadine moved to Sigourney in 2000. Nadine enjoyed taking care of the flowers at the apartment building, crafts, camping - especially at the Iowa State Fair - and playing bingo.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Jean Husband of Sigourney; niece, Phyllis (Ron) Hoffman of Sigourney; nephew, Rodger (Sharon) Aller of Sigourney; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Kenneth Husband; sister, Elpha Aller; brother-in-law, Dale Aller; and nephew, Richard (Jessie) Aller.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney with Pastor Vince Homan officiating. Burial will be at Sixteen Cemetery in rural Thornburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
