BARBARA ANN (AYLSWORTH) PAULSEN
Stanwood
Barbara Ann (Aylsworth) Paulsen, 86, of Stanwood, passed away on Jan. 27, 2021, at Poudre Valley Hospital, Fort Collins, Colo., following a sudden illness.
Private, family services were held at Goes Funeral Home in Colorado. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 19, at the Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsville followed with a gathering of friends and family at her home in Stanwood.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Joan of Fort Collins, Colo., and Karen of Stanwood; granddaughter, Mikaela Gossman of West Branch; great-grandchildren, Lilah and Zayne Gossman; as well as a few nieces and nephews
She was born Nov. 18, 1934, to John Burr and Gladys Ellen (Hart) Aylsworth. Barbara graduated from Stanwood High School and attended Nursing school in Iowa City. She was united in marriage to Keith Richard Paulsen on Dec. 26, 1945, in Stanwood. They were blessed with four children: Donald, Joan, Robert and Karen.
After raising her children, Barbara went to work at Wabash in Tipton, and later as a Home Health Aide for Cedar County Visiting Nurses. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, playing cards, dances and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; sons, Donald and Robert; parents; two sisters, Joyce and Dorothy; brother, Robert; son-in-law, Melvyn Brown; and great-son-in-law, Jonathan Gossman.
