Acting on emotions, not seeking the truth

The appearance of guilt unleashes the anger/hatred of society's court of public opinion, who shout, “No justice, no peace” - seeking to intimidate authorized officials to compromise the principle of “innocent until proven guilty” and caring more about avenging a death than wanting justice.

Their symbolic wearing of a “hoodie” does nothing to uncover the truth, but our society has no more substance to their truth other than symbolism. Because if we are willing to use partial Scripture quotes such as “Judge not ...” to polarize issues, then we destroy not only our justice system, but an anchor of hope, by faith in Jesus Christ, to patiently wait upon the (truth) Lord.

Even though God has given us his word as the source of “righteous judgment” (John 12), the hoodie-wearing majority would take away George Zimmerman's “right” of innocence or guilt.

Henry David Thoreau said, “But where there is one, there is a majority of one, and, when the rights of the majority take away from the rights of the one, then the many will themselves suffer.” Today's “rights” are far more extravagant and far less noble than those he referenced. Today, everyone rushes to judgment, caring nothing for truth, wanting to be justified in their anger/hatred and far less concern for justice to be served.
