DOLORES K. BOELTER
Cedar Rapids
Dolores Katherine (Kalbantner) Boelter, 85, of Cedar Rapids, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 12, 2021, with her family by her side. A public visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family funeral service and entombment will take place on Friday, Jan. 15. A livestream of the funeral service can be viewed at www.cedarmemorial.com/obituary/2021/Jan/Dolores-K-Boelter/video.aspx beginning Friday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m.
Dolores was born on Jan. 28, 1935, in Elmhurst, Ill., the oldest of four children of Andrew and Anna (Mensing) Kalbantner. She graduated from York High School in Elmhurst, Ill., in 1953. She worked at numerous places, including US Bank and Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Richard Boelter, on Dec. 21,1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Villa Park, Ill. Dolores and Kenneth were charter members since 1961 of St Mark's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. At the church, she served as liturgist, organist and volunteered in numerous church organizations. Dolores spent most of her adult life raising her three children. Her family will dearly miss her smile, warmth, her endless caring nature and sense of humor. She always put others first and was the first person to put a card in the mail when someone had a birthday or graduation. We do take comfort in knowing God's promises are true, and as a believer in Jesus Christ as her Savior she will be eternally alive in Heaven.
Dolores is survived by her husband of 63 years; son, David Boelter of Lehi, Utah; daughters, Nancy (Daniel) Van Oss of Solon, Iowa, and Carol Boelter of Lincoln, Neb.; grandchildren, Nicholas Boelter of Chandler, Ariz., Reghan Boelter of Salt Lake City, Utah, Emily Capper of Iowa City, Iowa, Erin Capper of Waverly, Iowa, Allison Capper of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Shelby, Wesley and Tobey Wilson of Lincoln, Neb.; sister, Jean (George) Prince of Downers Grove, Ill.; brother, Don (Bonnie) Kalbantner of Princeton, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lorraine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Mark's United Methodist Church of Cedar Rapids. Online condolences may be directed to Dolores' family at www.cedarmemorial.com under obituaries.
