SANDRA L. "SANDY" STENDER
Delhi
Sandra L. "Sandy" Stender, 73, of Delhi, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, and additional visitation one hour before services on Friday at the church. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, at Delhi United Methodist Church, with Pastor Sam Mack officiating. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi.
Sandra Lee Stender was born June 16, 1943, the daughter of Eugene and Helen (Head) Zumhof in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a graduate of New Holstein High School. On April 17, 1964, Sandy married Richard Stender. Sandy enjoyed traveling, with trips to Florida, Las Vegas and Reedsburg, and a Caribbean cruise (anywhere flying was not required.) She enjoyed gambling, playing bingo, bridge, poker and Let It Ride. Sandy was very active in her children's lives as they grew. She was a great cook and enjoyed family holidays and entertaining. She liked feeding and watching the birds and loved her sheltie, Maggie. Sandy loved living at Lake Delhi, boating, campfires, and most of all, the good times with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Richard of Delhi; her children, Brian (Candy) Stender of Franklin, Wis., Kelly (Greg) Mordini of Denver, Colo., and Chris (Wendy) Stender of Delhi; seven grandchildren, Josh, Ashley, Madisen, Zachary, Mitchell, Nick and Alex; a sister, Barbara (Joe) Ketter of Reedsburg, Wis.; and a brother, Cary (Nadine) Zumhof of Bellevue.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Helen Zumhof; and brothers, Jerry and Jeff Zumhof.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
