Nancy Ann Haberle, 74,
of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Gainesville, Ga., died, Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at Mercy Hallmar after a short battle with ALS. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Walford Community Center, 120 Fifth St. North, Walford. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation Service is
assisting the family.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Heather King of Mableton, Ga.; her mother, Betty Stallman of Cedar Rapids; her siblings, Gary Stallman of Norway, Diane (Ted) Koopman of Atkins, Julie Stallman of Cedar Rapids and Richard (Ginger) Stallman of Norway; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James, in 2014; her father, Richard; and her stepbrother, Donald Peacock.
Nancy was born Oct. 10, 1944, the daughter of Richard and Betty Rosdail Stallman in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Norway High School in 1962. On Aug. 22, 1965, she married James R. Haberle in Norway and owned J & N Tap in Norway in the 1970s. She later moved to Georgia, and was employed at Prospectors Pouch in Kennesaw for many years.
Nancy enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time gardening outdoors. She was an Iowa Hawkeyes football and sports fanatic. Nancy loved to laugh and spend time with her family. She was always seen with a smile on her face.
The family wishes to thank Jenny Hansen, Julie Stallman, Diane Koopman and Debbie Stallman for all the days and nights spent with Nancy, and the staff at Hallmar and the Hospice of Mercy for their care.
