Donald D. McLane, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.
Donald was born May 19, 1933, in Elkader, Iowa, to Kenneth and Jean (Uriell) McLane. He was united in marriage to Rayma Jean Kellogg in Elkader on Nov. 10, 1951. To this union, two daughters were born. Donald was employed at Universal Engineering and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He enjoyed golf and wintering in Arizona and Florida.
Donald is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Rayma Jean; two daughters, Donna (Terry) Donnelly of Madison, Wis., and Diane (Patrick) Ryan of West Dundee, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Kate) Donnelly, Dylan (Krista) Donnelly, Brittany (Lance) Duroni, Dane Donnelly, Griffin Donnelly, Bryce (Keith) Fallen and Kim (Matt) Matzl; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Murray and Nabi for the great care they gave to Donald.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donald's honor may be made to Hospice of Mercy.
