Azelton, Carol Alberta
Carol Alberta Azelton, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at her home. Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at her home. Private family inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Mark (Marcia) Azelton of Lander, Wyo., Michelle (R.J.) Mahan of Ladora, and Gail (Wayne) Boesenberg of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Megan Azelton, Cliff (Tiffani) Azelton, Ryan Azelton, Destinie Mahan (Steven), Andrea Osborn (Nate), Austin Mahan, Ryan Mathison and Martina Azelton; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Blake, AnnaJo, Greenly, Lance, Olivia, Gabe and Jamie; and a sister, Muriel Clark of Owosso, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Michael; two brothers, William and Harold; and sister, Ruth Van Horne.
Carol was born June 20, 1928, the daughter of William and Rhea (Snidecor) Briening, in Owosso, Mich. On Jan. 7, 1961, she was united in marriage to William Azelton in Owosso. He died Feb. 27, 1996.
Carol enjoyed cooking, embroidering, gardening, porch swinging, country music and taking care of her home. Her greatest love was being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carol was always loved, never forgotten, forever young, our angel.
