Ebert, Vivian
Vivian Ebert, 89, of Clarence, died Monday, July 5, 2010, in Presbyterian Village, Ackley. Services: 2 p.m. Friday, St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with Pastor Gary Burkhalter officiating. Burial: St. John's Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the church. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Survivors include her son, Joel (Sue) Ebert of Ackley; daughter, Linda Hines of Clarence; grandchildren, Adam (Denise) Frahm of Cedar Rapids, Lance (Jollene) Hines of Lowden, Chad (Sara) Ebert of Courtland Minn., Kara (Michael) Short of Rochester Minn., and Clark (Shary) Ebert of Riceville; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lorren Voss of Winfield, Kan., and Al Voss of Garner; and a sister, Darlene King of Winfield, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Lester Voss; a sister, Leora Schlinker; and son, Scott Ebert.
Vivian was born May 19, 1921, in Sunberry, Iowa, to Alfred and Rose Wendt Voss. She married Norbert Ebert on June 23, 1940 at Stanwood, Iowa.
Vivian was a 1939 graduate of Tipton High School, for many years she worked as a clerk in Claney's Grocery Store in Clarence and also sold Avon. For many years, she was Cedar County Cancer chairwoman, she also was a former Golden Ringer in the St. John's Church bell choir.
