Anderson, Lyle Murray
Lyle Murray Anderson, 67, of Lincoln City, Ore., formerly of Clermont, died unexpectedly from a fall on Sept. 7, 2012, in Oregon.
Lyle was born July 26, 1945, to Leslie and Jeanette Anderson. Lyle served in the U.S. Marines from 1966 to 1968. He was deployed to Vietnam, where he served as a lance corporal with “A” Co. 3rd Platoon. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in action.
Lyle is survived by his two children, Shaun Anderson of Portland, Ore., and Tina (Chris) Duffenbach of Trempealeau, Wis.; grandchildren, Taylor, Noah and Ryanne Duffenbach; sisters, Janice (Roger) Torson of Hiawatha and Marilyn (Roger) Falb of Elgin; nephews and nieces, Darin (Meggan) Torson of Cedar Rapids, Ryan Torson of Alburnett, Amber (Greg) White of Keller, Texas, Shannon (Wendi) Falb of Palo, Wendy (Shane) Hass of Monona and Shane (Melissa) Falb of New Sharon; and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stanley Anderson; grandparents and other relatives.
Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. A celebration of life memorial will be Sunday, Sept. 16, from noon to 3 p.m. at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clermont.
