Schuchmann, Paul Jr.
Paul Schuchmann Jr., 87, of rural Arlington, entered Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters, Oelwein, on Saturday, March 12, 2011. He died there on Sunday evening, March 13, 2011, from an apparent cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at St. John Lutheran Church, Arlington, with the Rev. Paul Fohs officiating. Visitation at the church from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service Thursday at the church. Interment: Taylorsville Cemetery, Arlington, with military honors by the Arlington American Legion Post No. 219.
A Memorial Fund has been established for the Arlington American Legion Post No. 219 and the Arlington EMTs.

Paul is survived by his wife, Bertha Schuchmann of Arlington; two sons, Kevin Duane Schuchmann (Patti) of Dyersville and Steven Lynn Schuchmann (Ursula) of Arlington; two daughters, Darla Dee Butikofer (Tom) of Elgin and Sue Ellen Becker (Greg) of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey and Elizabeth Becker, Willow and Graham Schuchmann and Sydney, Valerie, Luke and Lance Butikofer; three brothers, Irvin “Bud” Schuchmann (Marian) of Strawberry Point, Melvin Schuchmann (Carole) of Marshalltown and Fred Schuchmann (Lois) of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Ida Mae Johnson (Art) of Cedar Rapids.
