Brown, Mildred F.
Mildred F. Brown, 90, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Burlington, Iowa, died March 4, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, Iowa. Graveside services will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham, by the Rev. JudyAnn Morse.
Survivors include a son, Lanny (Karen) Heater; brother, Leonard (Shirley) Crafton; sisters, Marilyn (Ralph) Rettig and Idora Crafton; grandchildren, Rick (Jackie) Nutz, Lance Heater and Katrina Coleman; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Williams; husband, Leonard Brown; seven brothers and sisters; and her loving feline companion, Suzie.
Mildred was born Nov. 10,1919, in Birmingham, Iowa, daughter of Bertha and Walter Crafton. In 1939, she married Gayle Heater; they were later divorced. She then married Leonard Brown in 1959. Mildred enjoyed gardening, feeding her wildlife, crossword puzzles, and taking care of her bird Sammy.
