Stratton, Edna Marie
Edna Marie Stratton, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Sonda Kirsteatter. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha.
Edna was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Cedar Rapids. She was married to Lance K. Stratton on Feb. 8, 1936. Edna was a homemaker for most of her life and a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Mary Baker, Marion, Roberta (John) Walderbach, Cedar Rapids, and Janet (Ray) Hassan, Vero Beach, Fla.; her sons, James, Cedar Rapids, and Robert (RaiAnn), Hiawatha; a brother, Harold Henecke, Cedar Rapids; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lance; three brothers; and a special sister.
The family would like to thank the St. Luke's 5 West nursing staff and special friends she made at Heritage Nursing Home along the way for the loving care they gave our mother.
A memorial fund has been established in Edna's memory.
