That One Cupcake Place announced on its social media channels it has sold their last NewBo cupcake.
The business has decided to focus on its Hiawatha store at 766 N. Center Point Rd.
'We started That One Cupcake Place several years ago out of our home,” Teresa Pinkerton, founder and owner of That One Cupcake Place, wrote on the social media post.
'Using a Depression-era family recipe, we went from taking small orders, to selling out at farmers markets, to opening a ‘few-days-a-week' location at NewBo. From there, we saw demand for our cupcakes increase enough that we opened our Hiawatha location where we sell our cupcakes every day of the week.”
The location's last day in NewBo was Sunday.
The post states that moving from NewBo always has been the plan.
'Many people do not realize that NewBo City Market is intended to serve as a business incubator,” John Pinkerton, co-owner of That One Cupcake Place, noted on the social media post. 'Operating out of our space at NewBo allowed us to learn, grow, and see success for our business.
'We aren't leaving NewBo because it's not working …
. Rather, we're leaving because of how well the space has worked for us. The ultimate goal of opening a location at NewBo was to eventually close it as our business grew.”
The NewBo location had been open for six years.
