Evelyn English, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, in her home at Colonial Manor of Amana. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Rick Gail will officiate at the service.
Surviving are her children, Joyce (Mike) Westberry of Cedar Rapids and Glenn English of Miami, Fla.; grandchildren, Michael (Alexa) Stephens, Laura (Jarod) Williams, Matthew (Cassandra) Westberry, Amy (Todd) Garner and Jess (Richard) Anderson; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; son, Wayne; and brothers, Richard and John.
Evelyn Francis English was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Westborough, Mass., the daughter of John and Luella Potter Campbell. On Nov. 25, 1948, Evelyn and Richard English were united in marriage in Miami, Fla. Evelyn worked as an RN for over 30 years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Essence of Life Hospice, 3207 220th Trail, Amana, IA 52203.
