Henshaw Jr., John
John Henshaw Jr., 70, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sept. 24, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
John was born Jan. 12, 1941, in Beans Creek, Tenn., to John and Lucille (Gamble) Henshaw. John married Dixie Hawk on Sept. 10, 1960, in Harvey, Ill., at Missionary Baptist Church. John worked as a supervisor at MGD Graphics (Goss) as well as Cedarapids Inc. (Terex) in Cedar Rapids and he really enjoyed going fishing.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Lucille (Gamble) Williams.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dixie of Cedar Rapids; children: daughters, Laurel Henshaw of Cedar Rapids and Holly (Walter) Deeds of Atkins; son, Zak Henshaw of Lutz, Fla.; grandchildren, Alex and Jake Deeds; sister, Marie (Don) Pedigo of Benton, Ill.; sister-in-law, Cheryl Hawk of Kansas; and three nieces, Miranda Hawk, Donna Cheek and Sharon Bautall.
Memorial services will be planned at another date.
