Frank, Josephine Sophie
Josephine Sophie Frank, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 16, 2012. surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Mass: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at All Saints Catholic Church, by Father David O'Connor. Family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3855 Katz Dr., Marion, IA 52302, with a vigil service beginning at 6 p.m. The family also will greet friends one hour before services at the church. Graveside service: 3 p.m., Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include her children, Carol Frank of Cedar Rapids and Steve (Andrea) Frank of Park Rapids, Minn.; grandchildren, John (Leslie), Chad (Sherry), Kevin (Jaimee) and Jason (Jaime); great-grandchildren, Zach, Zoe and Max; and a brother, John (Marie) Linkiewicz Jr. of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd in 1996; her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Jo was born March 18, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the daughter of John and Mary (Yarcz) Linkiewicz. She was united in marriage to Lloyd “Dags” Frank on Dec. 30, 1943, in Center Point, Iowa.
The love of her life was her family and her faith. Jo also will be fondly remembered as the “sample lady” at the Mount Vernon Road Hy-Vee for over 20 years.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of Living Center East and Iowa Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
