Joseph J. Dahm, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church by Father Phil Thompson. There will be a private inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Jeanne; his children, Valerie Stinson of Cedar Rapids, Jeff (Caryn) Dahm of Bettendorf, Marshall (Tiffany) Chamberlain of Cedar Rapids and Brian (Stephanie) Dahm of Decatur, Ill.; his siblings, Mary Johnson of Early, Ruth Boes of Columbia, Mo., Helen Synder of Lake City and Bonnie Fonseca of Aurora, Colo.; his grandchildren, Robert and Stephen Stinson, Mara, Westin, Nyah and Ashlyn Chamberlain and Sophia and Anton Dahm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Robert Stinson; and a brother, Leo Dahm.
Joe was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Early, Iowa, the son of Leo and Helen (Yender) Dahm. He married Jeanne (West) Chamberlain on June 11, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. Joe retired from Rockwell Collins after 37 years of service as an electrical engineer. He was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He worked with Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed woodworking, bowling and spending time with his family.
