Iowa man dies after being hit by garbage truck

Authorities say man who was walking died after he was hit by a garbage truck in Osage in northern Iowa.
The Globe Gazette of Mason City says the Iowa State Patrol identifies the man as 76-year-old Marvin Rogers, of Osage.
The patrol says the accident happened about 11 a.m. on Tuesday when the garbage truck was backing up. The truck hit Rogers, who was walking near an intersection.
The accident remains under investigation.
