Norman Grandville Crouse, 95, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.
Norm was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier Saratoga as a radioman. After the war, he returned to Marion and his growing family. He worked on the engineering staff at KCRG-Radio for several years and then for WMT-TV for 40 years. Norm was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a pilot and flew a Cessna 172. Norm built several wooden sailboats and toboggans. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing for trout. He lived with youthful energy and a love for life. Norm passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Beulah Jane Crouse; children, Dennis N. Crouse and his wife Laurie Adamson of Melrose, Ma.; Christine H. Cooper and her husband Chuck Cooper of Naperville, Ill.; Ronald F. Crouse of Salem, Ore.; grandchildren, Jason Hunter and his wife Melanie of Chicago; Justin Hunter and his wife Annie of Naperville, Ill.; Sarah Dustin of Portsmouth, N.H.; and great-grandchildren, Mia Hunter and Lucy Hunter.
There will be a celebration of Norm's life this spring.
