Ribbon cut on new outdoor exercise station

CEDAR RAPIDS - A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new outdoor exercise station in Cherry Hill Park took place Wednesday afternoon.
The station includes elements for upper and lower body exercises and plyometrics. There also is a wheelchair accessible piece for upper body exercise.
The Cedar Rapids Association of Realtors provided approximately $20,000 for the equipment. This is the third exercise station in Cedar Rapids parks donated by the Association of Realtors for a total contribution of $60,000.
The ceremony took place south of the pool at the park, 341 Stoney Point Rd. NW. Speakers included City Council member Justin Shields, City Manager Jeff Pomeranz, Gary Doerrfeld of the Association of Realtors and Parks Superintendent Daniel Gibbins.
