Lillian Marie Lynch, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday after 9 a.m. at the church.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Eugene; a son, P. Michael (Diane) of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Linda Lynch of Cedar Rapids and Virginia (Michael) Uhlenkamp of Breda; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Lynch of Cedar Rapids; nine grand-children, Kate, Dan (Jessica), Kyle (Alyce), Cory, Chris, Connor, Colin, Cole and Cami; four great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joe Hennessy of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, John, and a sister, Dorothy.
Lillian was born June 13, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Verena D'Autremont Cunningham. She was married to her school sweetheart, Eugene Lynch, on June 30, 1951, in Cedar Rapids. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clarke College and retired in 1990 after 20 years as a teacher at St. Jude and St. Matthew grade schools. Lillian was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and for 25 years, enjoyed being a Mary Kay consultant.
Lillian loved her family, enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling, and was proud of teaching her children how to cook and learn all types of handiwork.
