Tillie Mae Staub, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Living Center West in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A private family graveside service was held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and a donation will
be made in Tillie's honor.
Tillie Evenson was born March 3, 1929,
in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of George and Frances (Sheaver) Evenson. She married William E. Staub on March 15, 1947, in Iowa City. Tillie worked at Ellis Golf Course and Twin Pines Golf Course for many years. She had a passion for collecting antiques and was employed by Sanctuary Antiques. Tillie enjoyed her garden house and wildlife, especially tending to the neighborhood cats. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.
She is survived by her daughter, Billie Jean (Randy) Meeks of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; granddaughter, Jodie (Michael) Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Justeen Schoner and Connor Murphy, all of Marion, Iowa.
Tillie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William E. Staub; and a son, James Staub.
