Police say Sigourney man seriously injured another man in Iowa City fight

A Sigourney man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of willful injury causing serious injury after authorities say he allegedly kneed a man's head into a concrete ledge near Phillips Hall in Iowa City May 21.
Reports indicate that Kasey M. O'Rourke, 25, of Sigourney, and a group of acquaintances had an altercation with another group at Milio's Sandwiches in Iowa City on the evening of May 21. After the altercation, the groups parted ways.
Later in the evening. the groups met again, and O'Rourke allegedly punched a man in the head, knocking him to the ground. O'Rourke then allegedly kneed the man's head into a concrete wall or ledge outside Phillips Hall, University of Iowa police said.
According to UI police, University Hospitals records state that the injured man received multiple facial fractures because of the incident and required surgery.
O'Rourke was being held at the Johnson County Jail Thursday morning.
Willful injury causing serious injury is a class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine.
