Veronica Krehlik entered into rest at Mercy Iowa City on Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, 2014, She lived 90 years, 6 months and 29 days. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at St.
Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. The family willl be present to receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. A luncheon will immediately follow services at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be used at their discretion will be accepted.

Veronica Agnes Krehlik, daughter of Mearl J. and Marie A. Maher Leeney, was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Iowa City. Veronica grew up near Cosgrove, where her parents farmed. She attended Cosgrove Consolidated Schools through the ninth grade and graduated from University High School in Iowa City. Following school she completed a business certificate at Commercial College in Iowa City.
Veronica worked as a bookkeeper until she married Lloyd Krehlik at St. Peters Catholic Church in Cosgrove on Aug. 21, 1946. To this union they had two daughters, Karen and Diane.
She and Lloyd worked and lived on their family farm southeast of Iowa City. In addition to being a farm wife, Veronica was active in the Sew and Blow Club, several card clubs and was a Farm Bureau member. She served as a 4-H leader, assisting many young members for eight years.
Lloyd and Veronica were lifelong members of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City, where she was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Lloyd, on July 2, 1989; and her sister, Genevieve, in 2009.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Krehlik (Bill Cox) of New Virginia, Iowa, and Diane Collins (Tim) of Hinsdale, Ill.; five grandchildren, Michelle Vander Leest (Troy), Eric O'Leary (Johan), Tim Collins (Mary), Kelly Byrne (Nick) and David O'Leary (Megan); and nine great-grandchildren, Alexa, Taylor, Gage, Caitlin, Erin, Martin, Peter, Patrick and Eileen.
