Coramarie O'Leary, 72, of Central City, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services:
10 a.m. Saturday, Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Coramarie is survived by her sons, Jeff (Deanna) O'Leary of Cedar Rapids, John (Deb) O'Leary of Atlanta, Ga., and Jim (Cindy) O'Leary of Central City; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn O'Leary and Matt (Ashley) O'Leary of Cedar Rapids, Ashleigh (Justin) Musil of Bertram, Amanda O'Leary of Hills, Justin Oglevie of Denver, Colo., and Nathan O'Leary of Atlanta; four
great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Evie Roethler and Ryker and Kylie Ray Musil; four sisters, Jeri (Howard) Simmons and Theresa (Dewey) McPeek, both of St. Peters, Mo., Mary Alewel of St. Charles, Mo., and Julie (Rob) Underwood of Gardner, Kan.; and brother, Ray (Marva) Rhubottom of Oceanside, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike, in 2002; her son, Joey; her brother, James Rhubottom; and her sister, Sharon Bruggeman.
Coramarie was born June 16, 1945, in Sioux City, the daughter of Wilbur and Helen Gunderson Rhubottom. She graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1963, and married Michael O'Leary on July 10, 1965, in Sioux City. Coramarie spent most of her life as a mother and wife, but after her children had grown, she operated the "Child Care Connection" daycare prior to the death of Mike. In 2002, Coramarie with her son, Jim, opened Montana's Restaurant in Central City. In addition, she was the baker and later the manager of the Taft Middle School cafeteria, and the day kitchen manager at the Howard H. Cherry Scout Camp (HHCSR).
Coramarie enjoyed home campfires, working board games with friends, tent camping, rodeos, the Desperados skit group, and taking road trips with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
The family would like to thank the Hiawatha Care Center, the Dennis and Donna Oldorf House of Mercy and the UnityPoint St. Luke's Hospital 3 Center nurses for the care and compassion they gave to Coramarie. A special thanks to Dr. Mary Anne Nelson, who was instrumental in Coramarie's comfort and care.
