Nancy Geistfeld, 78, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 1 to
3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Iowa. Due to these difficult times, the family requests no handshakes or hugs and all guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Nancy was born on July 29, 1942, in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew Paul and Bertha Celia (Hinrichs) McLeish. On June 18, 1961, she was united in marriage to Eugene LaVerne Geistfeld in Oelwein. Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for Ethan Allen, Davis Jones Lamb Insurance, and ADM. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion. Nancy enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards, and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nancy is survived and lovingly remembered by her three children, Ronald (Regina) Geistfeld of Omaha, Neb., Larry (Gabby) Geistfeld of Des Moines and Joni (David Christiansen) Geistfeld of Marion, Iowa; two grandchildren, Madelynne (Matthew Boyce) Geistfeld of Ankeny, Iowa, and Tristen Christiansen of Marion, Iowa; brother, Andrew (Cheryl) McLeish of Morristown, Tenn.; eight nieces and nephews, and 15 great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Geistfeld; and daughter, Julie Geistfeld.
