CEDAR RAPIDS - A northern Iowa man was charged this week in federal court with possessing and receiving child pornography.
Adam Haacke, 26, of Riceville, was indicted Monday with one count of receipt of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.
The indictment alleges Haacke received and possessed child pornography between 2014 and May 2015.
If convicted, Haacke faces a mandatory five years and up to 60 years in prison. He also would face a $750,000 fine and at least five years and up to life on supervised release after prison.
U.S. Chief Magistrate Jon Scoles during a detention hearing Thursday released Haacke pending trial but ordered home detention and electronic monitoring. He also ordered Haacke to undergo a mental health evaluation and/or treatment program.
His trial is set Oct. 5.
