Kevin Richard White, 62, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 20, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Liturgy: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, conducted by Father David O'Connor. A private committal service will take place at a later date.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Mary of Marion; son, Richard White of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Rachel White of Iowa City; sisters, Debbie (Perry) Smith of Shellsburg and Cindy (Alan) Hafner of Cedar Rapids; brother, David White of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law, Mark Paar of Des Moines and James Lee of Kansas City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kevin was born Nov. 29, 1953, in Bethesda, Md., the son of Richard and Louise (Gunn) White. He was a 1972 graduate of Kennedy High School, where Kevin was on the gymnastics team as a talented trampolinist. On Dec. 6, 1985, he married Mary Teresa Paar in Cedar Rapids.
In his earlier years, Kevin was employed in telecommunications. He also worked at the former Sign Productions, and most recently loved his position at CashLynk.
He was a gifted mechanic, loved woodworking, home improvement projects and solving crossword puzzles.
Kevin was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
