Heck, Patrick 'Pete'

Patrick “Pete” Heck, 40, of Blairstown, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Marengo Hospital in Marengo. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.

Patrick Alan Heck was born June 20, 1973, to Charles and MaryAnn Dunham Heck in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1991. Pete was united in marriage to Eva Huckins on Aug. 21, 2004, in Blairstown, Iowa. He enjoyed woodworking, grilling and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; son, William Gerlach of Shellsburg and his mom, Kathy; stepchildren, Tiffany (Jesse) Elliott, Chad (Kayla) and Sam Elliott, all of Des Moines; mother, MaryAnn (Harold) Heck of Cedar Rapids; sister, Becky Heck of California; brother, Eric (Kasey) Day and sister, Angie Day both of Cedar Rapids; maternal grandmother, Grandma Weber of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Allana Elliott; and many nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are his second set of parents, Henry and Judy Day.

Pete was preceded in death by his father.
