Patrick, George F.
George F. Patrick, 84, of Hiawatha, died on Friday, July 16, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa after suffering a massive heart attack.
A private family service will be held at Clinton, Iowa. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include his children, George Patrick (Anita) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Bob Patrick (Susan) of Chicago, Illinois; and grandchildren, Ben and Nick Patrick of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
George was born in DeWitte, Iowa. He spent the majority of his career, after the military, in the broadcasting industry where he eventually, after numerous assignments, ended up in Cedar Rapids where he spent most of his career at KCRG radio and TV from 1962 until his retirement in 1984.
While his radio and TV programs were enjoyed by a large audience, he will be remembered most for his TV commercial, “Make no mistake, This is a big one”.
In 2007 he was inducted into The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association which was a thrill for him to relive some of “the good old days” of his music association.
His family has fond memories which will stay with us forever and he will be missed by all.
Memorial requests may be made to The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association.
