George Frank Patrick III, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away with his significant other, Suzanna Bishop, at his side on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at Windmill Manor in Coralville, where he was in rehabilitation from a recent liver transplant, which is the ultimate gift of life. Per George's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
George was born on June 11, 1950, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of George Frank Patrick Jr. and Erna (Lucke) Patrick. He graduated from Washington High School and continued his education at the University of Iowa. George was a longtime employee at Lefebure, retiring as a master scheduler. He was a fan of music and was in a band in high school. The group remained friends for many years and played as a group whenever they could. George and Suzanna loved traveling together and loved listening to music. He also was an avid cook.
George is survived by his significant other, Suzanna Bishop of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Ben Patrick of Cedar Rapids and Nick Patrick of San Diego; two grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Susan) Patrick of Chicago, Ill. Also surviving is Suzanna's entire family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
