MAXINE VRBA
Vinton
Maxine A. Vrba, 18, of Vinton, passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Celebration of Life will be held on Jan 26, 2019, from 9 a.m. to noon at Palo Community Center, with a benefit from 2 to 9 p.m.
Maxine Arizona Vrba was born on Oct. 30, 2000, to John Vrba and Brein Grimm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a student at Center Point-Urbana High School.
Maxine was born with a rare heart defect and was instrumental in having new procedures and techniques performed on her. She enjoyed living life to the fullest and riding her four-wheeler. Maxine loved all music, unicorns and animals (especially her Chihuahua).
She will forever be remembered as a "Superhero" of her army and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Brein and Jim Osborn; and sister, Emma Osborn, all of Vinton; paternal grandmother, Chris Scharfenberg-Vrba of Robins; maternal grandmother, Sue Parker of Vinton; and maternal grandfather, Dan Grimm of Flint, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Vrba, in 2013.
Memorial donations may be giving in her name to the family through Jan. 26, 2019, or at Maxine's benefit directly for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital in Maxine's honor.
