Fry, DeWayne 'Doodle' R.

DeWayne “Doodle” R. Fry, 81, of Belle Plaine, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the Belle Plaine Nursing & Rehab Center following a lingering illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Christ United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Steve Hubbell presiding. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, with military honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hrabak Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Per his request, the casket will be closed.

He is survived by a daughter, Allison (Mike) Bachelder, and son, David (Deanna) Fry, both of Belle Plaine; sisters, Shirley Possel (Larry Bunn) of Cedar Rapids and Lucille (Fearney Hough) of Sedalia, Mo.; brother, “Buck” (Bobbie) Fry of Williamsburg; and six grandchildren, Dylan and Jenna Fry and Nick, Lane, Paige and Noah Bachelder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dolly Waterhouse Fry; his wife, Pat in 2001; and siblings, Bill, Harold, Albert, Nellie, Ruby, LaVera and Betty.
