Floyd F. Doty, 92, of Marion, died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Per Floyd's request there will be no service or visitation. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; two sons, Dean (Susan) of Show Low, Ariz., and Dann of Ely, Nev.; and one daughter, Deborah (Tom) Lenz of Marion. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deann Sandry; and his siblings.
Floyd was born March 28, 1924, in Cedar Rapids. He married Jacquelyn K. Betzer on Sept. 12, 1964, in Cedar Rapids. Floyd was an engineer at Iowa Manufacturing for over 41 years, retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed fishing, especially the trips with his buddies to Canada. Floyd also enjoyed gardening, sports, watching Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball and bowling, and was an avid history buff.
Floyd proudly served in the Army during World War II.
Memorial donations may be given to Disabled Vets in Floyd's name.
