Catching up: Kickoff times

I give up trying to figure out Big 12 TV.

Iowa at Iowa State goes at 11 a.m. on Sept. 10 on Fox Sports Net (don't ask, I don't know which one that is in Iowa).

Iowa has won the last three meetings with its instate rival. In 2015 or 2017, when the Big Ten goes to a nine-game conference schedule, Iowa State might become Iowa's featured non-conference opponent.

According to a tweet by Mark Rudner, the Big Ten's TV lead, TV will be scheduled for Big Ten games from Sept. 3, Sept. 10 and Sept. 17. For Iowa, that's Tennessee Tech and Pittsburgh, which I can't imagine falls to the BTN. Probably more like a 2:30 on ESPN or ESPN2.

But the BTN does have a say and could have a high pick on 9-17, the last real week of the non-conference schedule, with 9-24 being a vast wasteland of mirthless football in the Big Ten (save for Colorado going to Ohio State, which could be interesting).

Seriously, take 9-24 and go fly fishing or run a marathon or just flip to the best games on the big screen. Here is the list of Big Ten opponents that week -- Western Michigan @ Illinois (not playing Iowa, so don't worry), Indiana @ North Texas (@ North Texas?), Louisana-Monroe at Iowa (if this is close, all bets are off), San Diego State at Michigan (semi-interesting), Central Michigan at Michigan State (no Dan LeFevour), North Dakota State at Minnesota (revenge game for 'Sota), Nebraska at Wyoming (I love Wyoming for national parks not so much for football), Colorado at Ohio State (intriguing, but OSU rout), Eastern Michigan at Penn State (meet PSU RB Silas Redd, your Big Ten offensive POW) and South Dakota at Wisconsin (I see a lot of handoffs).
