JANICE ARDUSER
Monticello
Janice R. Arduser, 81, died Thursday morning, July 30, 2015, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Peace Church, Monticello. Pastor Michael Cleeton will officiate at the services. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Surviving is her husband, Robert; three daughters, Lori (Ignacio) Mendieta, Alburnett, Keri Paulsen, Marion, and Kris (Dr. Michael) Riley, Monticello; a son-in-law, Tom Paulsen, Scotch Grove; her grandchildren, Robert, Mitchell(Katherine), Morgan and Dylan Mendieta, Jeremy (Kara), Jason (Jauna), Jade Paulsen, Sara (Jon) Larson, Kaci (Matt) Simon and Taryn Kromminga; and two great-granddaughters, Audrey and Kate Paulsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marilyn Lamp; and her son-in-law, Richmond Kromminga.
Janice Ruth Lamp was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Davenport, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harvey and Hilda Cook Lamp. Jan graduated from the Tipton Consolidated Schools in 1951. She attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) from 1951 until 1953, receiving her teaching certificate. Jan's first teaching position was in Monticello where she would meet her future husband, Bob Arduser. Jan and Bob were married on Dec. 23, 1955, at Peace Church in Monticello. The couple moved to California while Bob served in the Navy and Jan taught there. They returned to the Monticello community and Jan taught in the Monticello Community Schools until she retired in June 1995. During her teaching career, she went back to school at UNI and received her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1977. Jan was a member of the BETA Club in Monticello.
