Norma Alvina Myers

Norma Alvina Myers, 87, formerly of Alburnett, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour before the services at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial: Blodgett Cemetery, Central City.

Survivors include her children, Robert Yates of California, John (Cindy) Yates of Cedar Rapids, Dorothy (Mike) Downs of Manchester and Trudie (Ron) Davis of Cedar Rapids; four stepchildren; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and her husband.

Norma was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Spring Valley, Minn., the daughter of Miner and Geneva (Hanson) Christianson. She was raised in Ostrander and educated in local area schools.

Norma was a member of the Marion American Legion Post 298, a devoted homemaker, mother, and Rockwell Collins employee, retiring with over 20 years of service. She loved to travel and spend time with her pets.
