Dennis "D" Sean Dillin, 62, of Williamsburg, passed away at his home on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Elaine of Adel; his three sisters, Kathleen Dean of Waukee, Mary (Stan) Hart of Sarasota, Fla., and Diane (John) Felton of Durham, N.C.; two brothers, Terry (Jennie) Dillin of Waverly and Matt Dillin of Waukee; six nephews; two nieces; three great-nephews; and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Tom Dean.
Dennis was born March 16, 1958, in Marengo, the son of Francis "Skip" and Elaine (Bruns) Dillin. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1976, and continued his education at the University of Iowa. While in high school, Dennis was active in several sports, including baseball, golf, track and swimming. He was among the first Williamsburg swimmers to compete in a State swim meet. He continued to enjoy golfing with friends throughout his life.
He managed the Sport Hill Country Club in Williamsburg, owned and operated the Little Chicago in Williamsburg, and managed the Marengo Country Club until his retirement. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes and Dallas Cowboys fan.
