David Leslie Marks, 63, passed away Aug. 20, 2015, at his home in Mesa, Ariz., following a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born Sept. 5, 1951, in Vinton, Iowa, the third child to Darrell and Myra (Flint) Marks. He spent his childhood in Hiawatha and as an adult, lived in Colorado, Idaho, Nevada and Arizona.
He was a Master Carpenter for 53 years and leaves behind a legacy of custom homes, restored historical homes, cabins, custom award-winning playhouses, sunrooms and many remodeled homes.
He is survived by his mother, Myra; brothers, Larry (Kathy Gliem), Charles (Betty Hingtgen) and Robert Marks and Sue Bornaise; sister, Beverly (Donn Wright); daughter, Lindsay (Blanchard), and granddaughter, Cameron Nola; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a wonderful support of friends and family who are planning a celebration of life this fall.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Marks.
Dave had a great sense of humor and was quick-witted, but will be remembered fondly as someone who colored outside the lines. We'll miss you and wishing you peace as you continue on your journey.
