Marie Margareta Schoon passed away at the age of 97 on Oct. 12, 2017, at Candlewood Valley Health Center in New Milford, Conn., after a short illness. She was a happy, active and involved woman who will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family is deeply grateful for the wonderful care she received during her

Together, they owned and managed restaurants in Monticello, Iowa, Phoenix, Ariz., and Manchester, Iowa. Marie then ran her own bridal shop business in Manchester and Bellevue, Iowa, for over 20 years. During her years living in Manchester, she served as president of the Chamber of Commerce and as regional director of the Red Cross. She was active in many organizations in Manchester. Marie moved to New Milford, Conn., in 2005 to live closer to her family.
