GEORGE OLIVER MILLER Cedar Rapids George Oliver Miller, 96, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Volga, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Survivors include his son, Jackie, and his wife, Sheila, of Marion; three granddaughters, Tina (Brian) Kerslake of Central City, Stacie (Mike) Coomes of Slater and Orlinda Robertson of Des Moines; five great-grandchildren, Jonathan (Sarah) Lochner, Joshua (Mikaela) Kerslake, Ashley Kerslake, Jared Coomes and Brandon Coomes; one great-great-granddaughter, Sophie Lochner; brother, Adrian L. (Belle) Miller; and many friends. George was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie, in August of 2002; great-grandson, Michel Kopp; and two sisters, Ada Garner and Mary Squire. Visitation: 9 to 10:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Volga. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Volga, with the Rev. John Haugen as celebrant. Interment: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Volga. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Elkader is assisting the family with arrangements.
