Rose Marie Carlo, 73, of Ely, lost her brave battle with dementia on Aug. 25, 2018. Rose was born March 26, 1945, in Cedar Rapids to Louis and Josephine (Hartl) Rozinek. Rose married Robert Carlo on May 25, 1968, in Cedar Rapids.
Rose was a country girl all her life, as evidenced by her love of the outdoors and her joy of bow hunting. She enjoyed her flower gardens and her cats, and was a photographer of nature. Rose was a registered nurse at St. Luke's for 31 years. Rose was a loving and dedicated Babi to her grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert; daughters, Rae Ann (Max) Diers and Stacey (Kevin) Pidima; grandchildren, Jesse (Holly), Lauren (Dax), Jarod and Shawn; and brother, Ed Rozinek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Patricia; and her brother, John.
A Celebration of Life for Rose will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. at Hopematters Cowboy Church, 115 First Ave. E, Walford, Iowa. Fellowship will follow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Rose's name to Hopematters Cowboy Church in Walford, Iowa.
