Kevin Garth Meer died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, while living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Services:
2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at First United Methodist Church, 214 Jefferson St., Iowa City.
Born Oct. 7, 1957, the son of Clarke Meer and Berta (Griffith) Meer, he graduated in 1975 from City High School, Iowa City.
Kevin served as regional sales manager, Air Wisconsin/United Express Airlines, and marketing manager, Richmond International Airport, Virginia. In 1994, he moved with his family to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he was employed as Middle East logistics manager for FedEx, Hewlett Packard and UPS, and general manager for LMJ Logistics.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clarke and Berta Meer.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Julie (Wood), and their two children: Haley Meer, Gold Coast, Australia, and Kayla Meer, Dubai, UAE; his brother, David Meer (Maripat), Madison, Ala.; his sister, Melanie Von Spreecken (Greg), Iowa City and Yangon, Myanmar.
