Ivan Lee Schwer, 56, of Abingdon, Md., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Feb. 14, 2015, from cancer, with his wife and son by his side.
Ivan was born July 2, 1958, in Independence, Iowa, to Leslie and Belva (Kisling) Schwer. He married Della Wales on Sept. 22, 1984, in Yakima, Wash.
Surviving are his wife, Della; son, Anthony (Kate); and granddaughter, Teagan of Maryland. Also surviving are his parents, Leslie and Belva Schwer of Cedar Rapids; brother, Steven (Cristel), and niece, Angela, of Germany; sister, Brenda of New York; and special cousins, Kenny and Sharon.
Deceased are one sister, two uncles, one aunt and grandparents.
Ivan graduated from Washington High School in 1976 and entered the Army. He retired after 19 ½ years and worked for the government at the time of his death. Ivan loved working in his fish pond in his yard.
His mom and dad want to thank you for all the prayers in the last four weeks.
