Burrichter, JoAnn
JoAnn Burrichter, 84, of 1210 W. 32nd St., Dubuque, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center. Services:
11 a.m. Thursday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., with the Rev. Thomas Young officiating. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
JoAnn was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Monticello, daughter of LaVern and Matie (Helgens) Serbousek. She married Leslie A. Burrichter Nov. 26, 1946, in Monticello. He preceded her in death in 1987. She graduated from Center Junction High School.
JoAnn was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid bridge player, loved the Hawkeyes and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia ‘Cindy' (Rick) Hanten, and Jill (Daniel) Miller, both of Dubuque; a son, Jeffrey (Chris) Burrichter, of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bill) Griffin, Benjamin (Sara) Hanten, Nicholas (Katie) Hanten, Lucas Miller and (his fiance, Emily Hartman), Nathan Miller, and Matthew Miller; and great-grandchildren, Amelia and Alexandria Griffin, Addison Hanten, and soon to be baby Hanten, and Jayden Hartman-Miller.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Leone Seehusen and Pauline Archer.
A JoAnn Burrichter memorial has been established.
