Hoover, Douglas
Douglas Hoover, 75, of Anamosa, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. William Nielsen will officiate at the services.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte; two children, Cathena (Lynn) Lerch, Anamosa, and Brett Hoover, Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Jason (Jean) Lerch, Alex and Jazlin Lerch; two great-grandchildren, Adreane and Jayden; a special friend, Matta Benke; and two sisters, Marilyn (Gene) Munier and Jackie (Kenny) Wirtner, both of Marion.
Douglas LeRoy Hoover was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Roy and Charlotte (Clark) Hoover. Doug graduated from Anamosa High School in 1956. He was employed as a farm hand for Don Hardersen, as well as Cliff Rogers, and also worked for Don Brady at the gas station and for Pearson Grocery. Doug married Charlotte Roberts on Jan. 26, 1968, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Doug was employed at Farm Service in Anamosa delivering feed and fertilizer until he retired.
