We must reach the youth in order to teach the youth

As the crime rate continues to increase in the area we should begin to focus on the lack of positive influences that our youth are falling victim to. I remember growing up and being able to stop an officer of the law and ask him for directions without being questioned about who I am or if I may be carrying any weapons. It's sad to say that those days have ceased to exist as frequently as they used to, it's as if all the good guys have moved on with their lives and departed from the city.
Many things come to mind when the increase in violence takes place, especially when it's predominantly the youth being the reason for the increase. If one looked deeper than what meets the eye they would be able to understand that society changes based upon the actions of the community. So, it actually makes sense as to why a person wouldn't be able to stop an officer and ask for directions without being chastised; it's because of the increase in violence. The increase in violence has caused our judicial system to become more firm in all aspects.
The time is now for everyone to take a stand and teach the youth the right things in life rather than guiding them down a road of destruction; destruction of the mind, body and soul. So many people are unaware of this issue because they, too, were brought up with no one to look up to in a positive light; it's a cycle that must come to an end. In order for us to put a stop to the violence we must reach the youth, to teach the youth. This approach has to be done for youth of all ages so that they can make better decisions as to which path they want to go down in life.
It has been said that kids do what they see and say what they hear, so lets be good role models and use our words to encourage our youth. The youth in this area are silently crying out for help and no one seems to hear them. The time is now to stand up for what is right, this is a public service announcement and the youth need your help. If we want brighter futures for ourselves we must instill the importance of a brighter future to our youth because they hold the key to tomorrow!
