MARLA JO GRIFFITH
Solon
Marla Jo Griffith, 60, of Solon, passed away Jan. 10, 2017, after fighting cancer for several months. According to her wishes, there will be no funeral services, but rather a Celebration of Life in the spring or early summer when the flowers are blooming.
Marla was born on Valentine's Day 1956 and raised in Clio, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; father, Dean; sisters, Rita and Rhonda; and lots of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jo, and her sister, Marsha.
Marla moved to Cedar Rapids in 1974 and shortly thereafter, as fate (or Karma) would have it, moved into an apartment house, also occupied by Steve. They moved to the country in 1975, were married in 1976 and lived a wonderful and very full life.
Marla was particularly fond of animals both her four cats and all of the birds, deer, squirrels and others that she fed and adored and her nieces and nephews called her "Snow White." She was the kindest person who any of us knew and will be both deeply missed and fondly remembered.
